Who is eligible for this settlement?

Any business or individual that accepted Discover credit cards during the eligibility period (January 1, 2007 – December 31, 2023) may be eligible. This is particularly relevant for Indirect End Merchants — businesses that accept Discover cards through third-party processors.

What happened?

Discover Financial Services misclassified over 5 million consumer credit cards as commercial cards from 2007-2023, causing merchants to be overcharged approximately 1% on every affected transaction.

How much could I receive?

Payment amounts are calculated based on your total estimated interchange fee overcharge across all your Discover Merchant Identifiers (MIDs). The settlement fund is $1.225 Billion with a guaranteed minimum distribution of $540 million.
